A dog went to sleep outside of his owner’s farm house . It was a foolish thing to do because the place was quite unprotected. So it was not surprising that a wolf set upon him. In another moment the dog would have been dead, but for a brilliant idea that flashed across his mind saved him from the inevitable.
“Do not eat me now,” he pleaded the wolf. Now I’m so skinny, so I might not satisfy your hunger. But it would be better if you keep little patience because my master and his family are going to celebrate a wedding. Then I shall have plenty of good food to eat and will become plump and fat, so that you’ll find me more suitable for eating.”
The foolish wolf thought over it and decided to let go of that dog savouring the prospect of a Healthy Meal. He went away and the dog heaved a sigh of relief.
Some time afterwards the wolf returned and found the dog sleeping on the roof of the farm building.
“Come down,” the wolf called. Come down at once. You had enough time to get as fat as you ever will. I want you for my dinner. Come down “.
“Oh no, wolf,” replied the dog calmly. “But I’ll tell you something: If you ever catch me sleeping on the ground, unprotected, again, then kill me at once. Do not wait for any wedding feast.”
The wolf growled in a threatening manner. But he knew it was of no use, and went away disappointed.
